Full Description: Arriving at the Charley Young Beach House after a long flight, the first thing I like to do is to walk down to Charley Young Beach with Katelyn, my 4 year old daughter and go for swim. We splash around in the warm gentle surf, catch some waves with the boogie boards, and then build sand castles for an hour. After the beach she loves to cross the street and cool down with some mango flavored shaved ice before we walk back to the house. I get a fish taco from Maui Tacos next door.

Then we sit back and relax to the local beat of Hawaiian music in the comfort of our brand new air-conditioned, private 3-bedroom, 2-bath home on a 1/4 acre. She looks up at the high vaulted ceilings says "Look Daddy a baby gecko! That means good luck, right?" Next we step out onto our private lanai, to enjoy the cool breeze sipping Mai-Tais and milkshakes and barbeque Mahi mahi while watching humpback whales spout, and the sun set over a palm tree laden beach on the Pacific Ocean.

My wife Susan is still soaking in the Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom while the baby sleeps soundly in his own room downstairs. Her parents are quietly napping in the attached but completely separate guest house down below getting ready for another fun filled day in paradise. Sometimes we go swimming at community swimming pool one mile north, but most everyday we just walk down to the beach. There are three great things I love about this home: location, location, location. It's walking distance not only to some of the best beaches on Maui, but also shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Kamaole Beach Park 1 for swimming and snorkeling is 3½ blocks, Cove Park for surfing is 3 blocks; Kalama Park is four blocks away. There are lots of little shops for swim suits, souvenirs and suntan lotion. On the mornings we don't cook breakfast we walk down to the Kihei Cafe.

Evenings when her parents baby-sit, we walk down to the sports bar for nachos and beer. There are great golf courses in Wailea which is about 4 miles away. You can fish or snorkel near the reef at Charley Young Beach. Many of our friends and guests like Kihei because it's centrally located: 20 minutes from the airport, not too far from Haleakala Volcano, and only 10 minutes to Turtle Town or Ma'alea Harbor where the boats leave for snorkeling, dinner cruises and fishing expeditions. After acquiring this property

in December of 2003, Susan spent the next 6 weeks searching the Island for everything she would need to equip our dream home with every modern convenience imaginable. With a penchant for interior design, Susan selected a Tommy Bahamas theme and shopped till she dropped everyday for 6 weeks. She found sold teak furniture from the Container Store where imported hand crafted furniture from the island of Bali adorns every room. For bedding she picked the high quality Sealy Posturepedic Mattresses and soft pillows that even a princess would applaud. Floral bedspreads and colorful local art adorn every bedroom. At night we watch TV in the King sized bed while Katelyn sleeps downstairs in the queen bed and Ryan sleeps in one of the 2 twin beds in the other guest bedroom. There's night light in the bathroom just incase Katelyn has to get up in the middle of the night. Susan thought everything furnishing this home, even a rug in front of the washer and dryer which are located in the two-car garage. For electronics we supplied TVs, Alarm clock radios, and telephones for just about every room in the house. The living room has a CD stereo and DVD player. The home comes with Time Warner Cable extended movie channels and high speed wireless Internet access. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and serve a gourmet Christmas dinner for 8.

There's only one bad thing about this place, leaving. No matter how long we stay, it's never long enough. We are never quite ready to leave, and it's always a sad day at the Kahului airport. The only consolation we have is that we'll back, soon. A one-bedroom ohana may be rented separately. Ohana means family in Hawaiian and usually refers to a mother-in-law-house or guest-house. This is a common architectural feature in Hawaii designed to accommodate large extended families. The Ohana is professionally designed as a completely separate dwelling unit. It's attached to the main house on the garage wall. The entrance is on the opposite side of the main house so you not will not even know that they are there.

This property is especially private. The view from the panoramic wrap around terrace is spectacular, the Terrace is decorated with an antique Maharaja afternoon 4 poster outdoor Bali bed with flowing fabrics which sets the scene for afternoon siestas and evening drinks.

The views are spectacular as the house I benefits from unencumbered views for 200 degrees around the house for three quarters of a mile around with no roof top or pilons or anything, just agricultural lands.

Bedroom Setup

All bedrooms have King or Queen beds All bedrooms have access to the 2000 square foot wrap around shaded under roof terrace. Air conditioning in the bedrooms have individual room controls.

The pool is large and has a rock hot tub jacuzzi whirl pool that waterfalls into the pool.

For those on a longer stay who wish to do laundry, the home also has 2 full laundry rooms. One for staff , one for you.

The house will sleep up to 20 with incremental amounts of squeeze.12 to 16 people is very easy.Due to the size of the house (some 8500 square feet ) and the multiple seating social areas, 16 to 20 people does not feel cramped.

Both houses are very private as all lots in this neighborhood are between 3 and 60 acres each. Neighbors are there , but fewer and further away.

Master bedroom—king and en suite, double headed shower, big tub.

Bedroom 2 - king and en suite, loft area good for children, not adults.

Bedroom 3 - king and shared bathroom/shower

Beaches

There are several swimming/surfing beaches within 5 minutes but the nicest is one minute drive at the bottom of the hill where there is a beautiful local beach which is very quite.It has washrooms, rest rooms, showers, Concreted in BBQ`s and tables, and plate washing facilities and parking.It has an old whaling rock lagoon that has filled up with sand and is calm whatever the sea does and warm always too.My young kids always went there as it is so safe. You can walk to this beach in 5 minutes. This beach is good for beginner surfers as it is rarely rough.

The beach is part shaded and part full sun. Adjoining the wharf, there is a regular sandy beach with smaller surfing waves but still not rough.

Location.

Laniopoko is just south 4 minutes south of Lahaina town , 35 from the airport and 30 from all the golf courses.15 from Kanapali,30 from Wailea.

For Children.

There is a gated toddler area, the main terrace is secure-able from the pool by a long gate on wheels, and there is a large shaded sandpit surrounded by an acre of lawn. There is a cinema, TV room and Wee game system. Children€s DVD library. For children The layout is ideal as the house is predominantly all on one level but with an upstairs vaulted ceiling pool table area leading to an observatory roof. Elegant Charming House

This brand new 7 bedroom ( Master has king bed the rest are Queen beds ) property sits in 2.5 acres of mature Hawaiian gardens, and is approached from a very long drive to a six foot bronze Buddha out side the front door. The home is in an elevated position offering spectacular views of the close by three Hawaiian islands, yet less than half a mile from a sandy swimming/ surfing shaded beach which is also great for kids as it has a lagoon of calm sea water.The home has a very large pool [ oversized in fact due to calculation error at time of construction ] which incorporates a bar, BBQ, jacuzzi, island and a beach entry close to a sand pit. The home its self sits over an acre of lawn.

When the bye fold doors are open to the view and pool area, the room measures a grand 50 X 24 feet, and provides multiple seating areas and dining locations. This connects the whole room directly to the pool and lawns.

The accommodation divides between 3 double bedrooms in the Grand main house and 4 double bedrooms in the very close spacious cottage, the 2 buildings have a illuminated walk path, and are about 30 feet apart. The coach house comprises 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a cinema and a games room with Ping-Pong. The cottage has a private garden and separate parking if preferred.

There is a separate air conditioned office building and there is wifi through out The home also has washers and dryers installed.

The home benefits from top quality appliances, granite kitchen, crushed or cubed ice making, and enormous living accommodation.

The main two bedrooms have lava walled spar type bathrooms with private siesta areas , privatized by a 6ft 6 inch Lava rock walled area adjoining the bathrooms which also have the most wonderful views from the baths of the mountain ranges to the rear and of the sea and the whales jumping to the front. Every detail of luxury is catered for, from the illuminated makeup mirrors to 400 count cotton sheets. The actual bath is out doors but securely under roof and the main bathroom area is behind doors .However although the baths are under roof out side they are completely private due to the 6 foot 6 inch lava rock walls that encompass the spar like environment. This whole indoor and out door area is described as a spar type bathroom and we arrange massages for guests who ask, in the privacy of this nature feel environment

This house will sleep 14 easily with up to 18 with incremental amounts of minor squeezing.

Beaches

The pool is perfect for young kids as it has a beach entry design and there is a large shaded sandpit surrounded by over an acre of lawn. There is a cinema, TV room and Wee game system and a Children’s DVD library. For children The layout is ideal as the house is entirely all on one level .The sand pit and pool and hot tub are a triangle on the same grass lawn. Shaded hammock for parents to watch from !

Weddings, Reunions, events and corporate.

This property is very well suited to weddings and events due to its large wrap around lawns , and having such a large area under roof [ easily handle 30 - 40 people ] which insures the big day against a rain out. Whilst both houses do suit very well for weddings, it is necessary to decline bookings that need a DJ or a band due to noise problems. Acoustic music or a Hawaiian musical duo works well. Also Numbers must be kept to 40 people due the limitations that the property automatically imposes. However a group that is certain to be a quiet group , we can accommodate 45 people.

Rates

It comprises a large 3 bedroom house and a 4 bedroom coach house immediately close by. The nightly rates vary from $900 in the lowest season to $2200 in the highest season with much of the year averaging between being $1500 per night, and with the coach house it would be averaging $1950 per night. Discounts may be given for smaller numbers.

The peak seasons are spring break, Christmas, new year and thanks giving. Reservations can still be made for a three bedroom house at he 3 bedroom rate of 1500 , or 1950 a night for a seven bedroom house which would then include the coach house.

When compared to the cost of a hotel suite or even hotel room, the cost per head is way cheaper and for huge square footage and massive facilities and full on quality and services.

Kaanapali Beach is about two miles from Lahaina. The Wailea Ekolu Village is 17.6 acres of beautiful landscaping and is immediately adjacent to the Wailea Blue Golf Course. The Ekolu Village has barbecue areas in a garden setting overlooking the golf course, ocean and two swimming pools.

The building is two-stories (low rise). It is very quiet and peaceful. I spent a week there (in January) and was pleasantly surprised as to how serene and relaxing it was to stay there. It is fully furnished and has a nice view of the oean from the lanai. Affordable maid and conceirge service is available. Some of the top ranked golf (Emerald, Gold) and tennis facilities (Wailea tennis club and Makena tennis club) are available at a discount. They are very close to the property.

A short stroll takes you to one of the many world famous Wailea beaches offering spectacular swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, or just a day of relaxing on the beach. The lush tropical grounds consist of four buildings with four units each. Our beautiful condo #1A2 is peaceful and inviting and it is just steps away from our lanai to the ocean or pool. Sitting on our lanai, you have a spectacular view of the island of Molokai; and you might even catch sight of a playful whale during whale watching season.

Our island home is a single story, ground level unit with NO HOT UPSTAIRS. Every room has air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. We have a portable highchair and umbrella stroller for our little guests.
